This special edition of the AF1 dedicated to Kobe draws inspiration from one of the many shoes the legendary player wore during the 2002-2003 season, a period when he had yet to officially sign with Nike after ending his previous contract.
The original version, an AF1 Mid, celebrated Kobe's career in Los Angeles with touches of Varsity Maize and Varsity Purple. The leather overlays, Air cushioning, and signature rounded toe have been preserved, while overlapping Swoosh logos and a matching Varsity Maize sole have been added.
Finishing off the Mamba-style look, the Sheath logo and Kobe's number are embroidered on the heel, with an additional Sheath logo stamped on the lateral rear panel. Bringing together two legends, this "Home" colorway pays tribute to one of the most unforgettable legacies left by an athlete.
