The rodeo, which has its first traces in the 19th century, is deeply rooted in the western United States. This event, positioned at the intersection of mestizo, native, and Anglo-Saxon cultures, initially began as a competition between ranches where equestrian skills and rope techniques were prominent, governed by few rules. Among the pioneers of what would become an extremely popular pastime in the United States were black ranchers and cowboys who, throughout the 20th century, transformed rodeo with innovative and spectacular techniques. Paying homage to America's first action sport, the colors and details of this Dunk Low are inspired by the Southwest tradition, shaped by black pioneers.
